The Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation for Dental Hygienists course is designed to instruct licensed Dental Hygienists in the art and science of minimal inhalation sedation using nitrous oxide and oxygen.
The course covers the evaluation of child and adult patients before administration, patient management during administration, and management of medical emergencies.
The course includes five weeks of didactic, online learning (15 hours) and one day (eight hours) of on-site clinical practice. Students are expected to be present in the ULM Dental Hygiene Clinic for the clinical portion on the final day.
